Write for Us: Dog Nutrition and Dog Care Guest Posts

Dog Meal Safety publishes practical, fact-checked guides that help dog owners decide what is safe to feed their dogs. If you know dogs well and can write clearly, we would like to hear from you. We accept a small number of guest articles each month, and every one goes through the same editorial review as our own content.

Who reads Dog Meal Safety

Our readers are everyday dog owners, mostly in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. They usually arrive with one urgent question, such as whether a food is safe, and they want a clear answer they can trust. Write for that reader: plain language, a direct answer, and no fluff.

Topics we accept

  • Dog nutrition, feeding, and portion guidance
  • Food safety: what dogs can and cannot eat, and why
  • Homemade dog food and healthy treat recipes
  • Common dog health topics, backed by veterinary sources
  • Training, behavior, grooming, and everyday dog care
  • Honest guides to dog food, treats, and feeding products

Topics we do not accept

We only publish content about dogs and dog care. We turn down every pitch outside that niche, including casino, betting, crypto, loans, adult content, CBD, and general lifestyle topics. We also reject articles that promise cures, give medication doses, or tell readers to skip the vet.

Content guidelines

  • Length: 1,200 to 2,000 words, depending on how much the topic needs
  • Original work only. The article must not be published anywhere else, before or after it appears here
  • Every health or nutrition claim needs a trusted source, such as a veterinary school, the AKC, the ASPCA, or peer-reviewed research
  • Write for people first. We reject unedited AI text, keyword stuffing, and content written only to rank
  • US English, short paragraphs, and clear headings
  • Images must be your own or properly licensed, with credit where required
  • We may edit for accuracy, clarity, length, and style, and we may add internal links

Links in guest articles

You may include one link to a relevant page on your own dog or pet website, using a natural anchor text. Links to authority sources that support your claims are welcome. We do not accept links to unrelated websites or exact-match commercial anchors.

In line with Google’s guidelines on outbound links, links in contributed articles carry a nofollow attribute. Any paid or sponsored article is clearly labeled as sponsored, and its links carry the sponsored attribute.

How to submit a guest post

Send your pitch through our contact page with the subject line “Guest post”. Please include:

  • Two or three topic ideas, each with a one-line summary
  • Links to two samples of your published writing
  • The URL of the website you want to link to
  • A short note on your experience with dogs

If your idea is a good fit, we will reply within five business days. If you do not hear back, we have decided to pass on this pitch.

After your article goes live

We share every published article with our readers, and we may update it later to keep the information accurate. Please do not republish the article elsewhere. You are welcome to share the link with your own audience.
